Oracle Database 11g continues to be innovative by storing and securing information while compressing data and consolidating application databases so that they are fast and reliable. In addition to understanding how to install and maintain Oracle Database 11g, this course aims to provide students with a foundation in the administration of Oracle Database 11g. They will gain a conceptual understanding of the Oracle Database architecture and how its components work and interact. Through participation in this course students will learn to create an operational database and properly manage its various structures in an effective and efficient manner. This includes performance monitoring, database security, user management and back up /recovery techniques used to minimize data loss. Areas of concentration include a focus on the concepts and architecture that support backup and recovery. Students will gain an understanding of the fundamentals and concepts of SQL language, and know how to extract, add and change data in a database. Topics are reinforced through hands on practice using the newest technologies as used by businesses today.
